A free Instagram team for Claude: the 2 install lines, the 3 skills I'd start with, and my 5-point check before anything posts

Claude Content Skills is a free, open-source set of 54 skills (MIT license) that work like a content team inside Claude Code: a strategist, a hook writer, a scriptwriter, an editor and more. This is how to install it, which 3 skills to try first, and the 5 things I check before anything goes live on my account.

What you need first

The repo is github.com/Ootto-AI/claude-content-skills. As of 18 October 2026 it has 193 stars and 38 forks.

The 2 install lines

Open Claude Code and run these one by one.

Line 1: add the marketplace

Paste this

/plugin marketplace add Ootto-AI/claude-content-skills

Line 2: install the skills

Paste this

/plugin install claude-content-skills@ootto-content-skills

Restart Claude Code, so it sees the new skills.

The 3 skills I'd start with

Run them in this order, on one idea you already have.

1. Going Viral (the strategist)

Paste this

/going-viral [your reel idea]. My goal is [saves / shares / follows / leads].

It makes you pick one goal before anything is written: saves, shares, follows or leads. Then it builds the hook and the funnel around that goal.

2. Viral Hook Writer (the hook writer)

Paste this

/viral-hook-writer [your topic]. Audience: [who it's for].

It writes 10 openings for the first 1 to 3 seconds, each under 12 words, and marks the 3 to test first. If you want them checked harder, the Virality skill has an 8-point checklist for the first 3 seconds.

3. Reel Scripter (the scriptwriter)

Paste this

/reel-scripter [the hook you picked]. Platform: Reels. Goal: [follows / saves / DMs].

It turns the hook into a 30 to 45 second script in two columns: what you say and the text on screen. Read it out loud and cut a fifth. If you want the shot plan too, Reel Builder lays it out beat by beat with the visual for each beat.

My 5-point check before anything posts

The full setup can post for you after your OK, and the Comment Responder can reply and send DMs 24/7. Before I'd let any of that touch an account, I check these 5 things.

  1. The AI label. Instagram says you must label photorealistic video or realistic-sounding audio that was made or changed with AI. The repo never sets that flag for you, so add the label yourself every time it applies.
  2. The facts. Every number and claim in the script is checked against its source before it goes out. A hook writer is built to make things sound big.
  3. The link. Open every link in the caption and in the DM yourself. The link goes in the DM, never in the public reply.
  4. The DM limits. Meta lets a business send one private reply per comment, within 7 days. Publishing through the API is capped at 100 posts in 24 hours. Plan your keyword and your follow-up around that.
  5. The music rights. If you add a track to the video file yourself, use music you have the rights to, or add the sound later in the Instagram app.

The honest part

This is how it looks as of October 2026. Repos, plans and limits change.
